Technical support activities are currently underway in Kiboga District Local Government (DLG) and Kyankwanzi District Local Government (DLG), where the Ministry of Local Government (MoLG) is supporting the implementation of Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) for Local Governments.
The support is being provided in line with Section 105 of the Local Governments Act, Cap. 138, which mandates the Ministry to coordinate and oversee performance improvement interventions across Local Governments. The current engagement focuses on the thematic area of Procurement and Contract Management, with emphasis on strengthening compliance with procurement laws and regulations, enhancing accountability and transparency in public resource management, and promoting value for money in the delivery of public services.
The technical support includes reviewing existing procurement and contract management practices, identifying performance gaps, providing practical guidance on corrective actions, and supporting the implementation of improvement measures aimed at enhancing institutional performance.
